CLASS DESCRIPTION:
In anticipation of a busy California fire season, this class will review some basic and advanced procedures and techniques for fire dispatchers during major incidents.
Day 1 will include classroom instruction, handouts, useful information packets, and review of a major campaign fire.
Day 2 will be a practical training scenario that will give dispatchers the chance to practice
skills and exchange ideas.
The instructor offers many years of experience and expertise in this area of Fire Dispatching.
Law Enforcement dispatchers are encouraged and welcome to participate as we all ultimately work together as a team.
INSTRUCTOR:
Jackie Jenkins of Montecito Fire Protection District
Jackie Jenkins is the Communications Coordinator for the Montecito Fire Protection District. She has been a fire dispatcher since 1985 and a supervisor since 1989. Jackie is qualified as Intel Specialist III, Initial Attack Dispatcher, Aircraft Dispatcher, Expanded Dispatch Support Dispatcher, Expanded Dispatch Supervisor (T), Public Information Officer (T), Ordering Manager (T), and Training Specialist (T) within the incident command system at fire emergencies.
COST:
There is NO FEE for this class, but students must pre-register for attendance.
