Wild Fire Resources
Now that fire season is in full swing, here is something for you to consider for your agency if it is not already a part of your acccessible inventory. Our agency (Montecito Fire) has put together and has on-hand a "brush packet". The contents of the packet are all of the paperwork necessary for brush fire response. The contents include:
- Brush Fire Checklist: This is a checklist specific to our agency that identifies what resources are necessary for a 1st alarm and 2nd alarm, and what notifications and actions must be taken.
If your agency is not a designated ROSS agency and resource ordering is done through an Operational Area, you may also include the following:
- Initial Attack Resource Order Form: (3) of these forms with the basic information already filled in.
- Equipment Resource Order Form: (2) of these forms with basic information filled in.
- Overhead Resource Order Form: (2) of these forms with basic information filled in.
- Aircraft Resource Order form: (2) of these forms with basic information filled in.
- Hand crew Resource Order Form: (2) of these forms with basic information filled in.
- Operation Plan Between Our Agency and FRA*
- Emergency Phone, FAX Numbers and Extensions for Expanded Dispatch Personnel
- Resource Ordering Step-by-Step Process
- Agreement Between Our Agency and SRA**
- Staging Area Instructions and Directions
- FMAG Instructions for Filling Out Forms
- Zone Guide for Equipment and Evacuations
It provides our dispatchers with an easy and efficient way of completing all of the necessary tasks related to a brush fire response without having to look for the proper paperwork. It also makes researching paperwork more efficient when it is kept in chronological order of how it is entered into ROSS
Wishing everyone a safe fire season and hoping this crazy California weather will make its mind!
